Scottsdale, AZ—February 9, 2024—Futura Automation is thrilled to announce the addition of Kenneth (Kenny) Doran to our Business Development team. Based out of his office in Rocklin, CA (Sacramento area), Mr. Doran will be supporting clients in the northern and central California region in the United States.
Kenny is a 2018 graduate of California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering. Embracing Cal Poly’s guiding principle of ‘Learn By Doing,’ Kenny has embodied this ethos throughout his academic and professional journey. His passion for technology ignited early in his life, leading him to self-teach programming during middle school and SolidWorks during high school. In the realm of robotics, Kenny’s explorations extended beyond the classroom; his involvement in a high school robotics program equipped him with a diverse skill set, including aluminum TIG welding, lathe work, 3D printing, and soldering.
Driven by an innate curiosity and a relentless desire to tinker, Kenny continuously acquires new skills, channeling this knowledge into the dynamic field of automation. Beginning his career as an Application Engineer at B&R Industrial Automation, he delved into programming PLCs and Industrial PCs, addressing a spectrum of customer needs. Recognizing his proficiency in communicating with clients and resolving intricate challenges, Kenny seamlessly transitioned into the role of a Sales Engineer. In this capacity, he adeptly managed a robust sales funnel, with a primary focus on cultivating new customer relationships and outreach initiatives. Guided by his fervor for robotics and a commitment to empowering clients in their automation journey, Kenny further specialized as a Robot Sales Specialist. Responsible for overseeing all robot sales in Southern California, from Bakersfield to Tijuana, he concentrated on enhancing customer productivity through the strategic deployment of Collaborative and Industrial Robots.
