CARTESIAN/GANTRY ROBOTS
Optimize Your Production
Efficiency is at the core of today’s manufacturing enterprises’ reality. That’s why many of them opt for automated handling solutions that optimize resources.
Increase Resource Management
In addition to addressing the growing labor shortage, industrial robots leverage performance, tracking, and continuous production. Challenge us to bring the company into the digital age!
Advantages at All Levels
Autonomous, easily integrates into production lines
High-speed movement
Various dimensions and options available
Steel components provide stiffness and strength for large loads
Precision machined rack and pinion gearing provide the motion
DC or AC Servo Drives provide motion and position control
Typical Applications of Gantry / Cartesian Robots
Cartesian robots are much more rigid in their motion with no rotary motion, except with a possible rotary actuator on the end effector. This may seem like a limitation, and it can be. But it also is an advantage in applications designed in a planar fashion, like placing, sorting or stacking product on a platform or conveyor. This planar quality of linear robots carries advantages that allow them to perform better than other robot types for certain applications. Here are a few examples:
If the benefits of an articulated (6 axis) arm are also required for an application, such as to rotate the product or pick or place at an angle, then an articulated arm can be added as an inverted end effector to the vertical or “Z” axis of a gantry, so long as the payload rating of the arm is sufficient.
